Robinho on the verge of signing for AC Milan

Robinho has declared himself happy in Italy ahead of his expected move from Manchester City to AC Milan.

City's £32.5million club record signing had been expected to be on his way out of Eastlands following two disappointing seasons in the Premier League.

The 26-year-old Brazilian was allowed to return home to join Santos during the second half of the last campaign after struggling with injury and a loss of form.

City boss Roberto Mancini suggested the door remained open for the former Real Madrid star, but Robinho is now on the verge of joining the Serie A side.

"I'm really happy to be here," he said after touching down in Milan ahead of a Tuesday afternoon medical."I hope to have success at Milan.

"Milan are an important side and I hope I will be able to show my worth on the pitch."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
